Safeguarding

The welfare of all pupils in this school is a priority.  We believe that our school should provide a caring, supportive and safe environment that promotes the social, physical and moral development of each child by the provision of a curriculum and ethos that promotes self-worth, confidence and independence.  No child can learn effectively and reach their potential unless they feel secure.

The school aims to create a warm, caring and secure atmosphere.  The day-to-day care and well-being of the children rests with the class teacher.  If there is a concern, the Headteacher is informed and parents will be contacted.  The Local Authority lays down clear procedures that all schools have to act upon in cases of non-accidental injury or suspected child abuse.  The Deputy Headteacher is the designated child protection officer.  Any concerns regarding child protection will be dealt with in accordance with the All Wales Child Protection Procedures.

Pat Lewis is the designated Governor for Child Protection.
