Reception and LRB1 form one bubble, and do the same work and activities.
Teachers in LRB 1 are Mrs House and Mrs Hulbert.
Teachers in class 3 are Mrs Richards and Miss Carstairs.
Teachers in class 4 are Miss Minney and Mrs Stuart-Jones.
This half term our theme is going to be based on the traditional tale of ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears.’
Within this theme the children will enjoy writing a list of ingredients needed to make porridge, the children will practice re-telling the story in the style of Pie Corbett (see link below).
In addition to this they will create story maps and character descriptions.
The children will have a big input of RWI for the first half term, which will help them to acquire the skills needed to complete some of the tasks above.
In maths some of the skills the children will learn include writing and recognising numbers, ordering numbers to ten and completing simple addition in practical situations.
Numicon is used on a daily basis in school to help children understand all aspects of maths.
Once a fortnight Mr Hughes will be spending a whole day in each Reception class, on these days he will be doing Wellbeing activities with the children. Mr Hughes will also be planning fun PE sessions- parents will be informed when PE will be commencing. A PE kit will not be required.
Please be reminded when preparing your child’s packed lunch that we are a healthy school and ensure that you provide healthy choices. If you would like your child to have fruit, the cost of this is £1 per week and can be given to the class teacher.
NB - LRB1 pupils will bring their own fruit each day.
